Help Ollie Heal: Caleb's Lifesaving Companion
Donation protected
Hello friends and family, I am making this GoFundMe for my boyfriend Caleb and his best friend / companion Ollie.
On Friday 25 April, at approximately 7:15pm we were driving back home from the lake on i5 here in Washington. Ollie was in the back seat and all the windows were down in the car (as he loved looking out). A little before our exit home, we were on the fast lane, when a semi truck was next to us and shifted gears and it was extremely loud, it scared Ollie .. (Ollie is a rescue and was beaten, so any loud noise freaks him out) ..
I looked back and saw Ollie freak out and jump out of the window as in his fight-or-flight instinct kicked in. We were going 65-70 mph .. I yelled to Caleb “he jumped out he jumped out”.. all I saw was poor Ollie hit the road and was rolling on the highway and a car swerve around him. Caleb pulled over so fast and ran to look for him.. highway patrol tried to assist and we were on i5 looking and looking for almost an hour, but we had no luck! Ollie is Caleb’s best friend, companion, and the most loyal dog ever!! Ollie saved Caleb’s life. Ollie is his world.. we were at a loss..
We went back out there yesterday morning for about 2 hours, and again, no luck ..
A non-profit organization that specializes in pet recoveries was reached out to, and they started looking via thermal drones and on foot that same day.
This morning at approximately 8:15 am, we got the call that OLLIE WAS LOCATED AND ALIVE!!!
Upon arriving he was found around the same area we had searched the day prior, he was scared, but as soon as he recognized Caleb, he wagged his little tail and stayed in place so he could be approached.
Our finances are extremely tight right now as I am 36 weeks pregnant and we are waiting for the arrival of our baby and have been preparing for that.
We are at the emergency vet, and so far Ollie is doing good. We’re waiting to hear if he needs surgery for his leg and more blood work, as well as emergency vet costs.
We greatly appreciate you reading Ollie’s story. He is a survivor and one of the best dogs out there.
** If you are able to and would like to help, any donations will help beyond words!! **
Thank you for the endless prayers!!
