Ollie, my mother’s beloved Shih Tzu mix, has been her loyal companion for the past seven years. Their bond is truly remarkable—whenever my mom is by Ollie’s side, he immediately calms down, no matter how stressful the situation. Even the nurses at the Norwalk animal hospital have noticed the deep connection they share. Their relationship is a source of comfort and joy for both of them, and Ollie has been a constant presence through life’s ups and downs.

Recently, Ollie was tragically hit by a car and suffered several broken and fractured bones in his pelvic. He also needs urgent surgery to reposition his gallbladder. The veterinarians have made it clear that surgery is needed as soon as possible to relieve his pain and give him the best chance at recovery. The costs for his treatment and surgery are overwhelming for our family, and my mom is heartbroken seeing Ollie in pain.
