His family will need to travel to Indianapolis every other week for care, all while managing mounting medical bills and time away from work.
Ollie is a fighter — always smiling, even in the hardest moments. Let’s rally around him and his family. Every donation, share, and prayer helps.
In June of 2021, Ollie started having headaches, dizziness and fevers. After multiple doctor’s visits and lab tests, a CT showed that Ollie had a tumor in his brain. That night, he took an ambulance to Riley Hospital in Indianapolis. Soon after his diagnosis was confirmed as Medulloblastoma, and he started treatment.
Ollie had brain surgery to remove most of the tumor before chemo and radiation. However, he developed Posterior Fossa Syndrome as a complication of that surgery. It rendered him unable to walk, speak, swallow, or even lift his head. He was essentially a baby and had to learn how to do everything again. It took months of hard work and therapy, but he regained many of his abilities. He continues to have multiple therapies each week to gain physical strength and be closer to where he was before surgery.
Ollie spent about 3 months in the hospital before coming home to continue treatment. He spent a year cancer free after his treatment ended. In the September of 2023, Ollie had a routine scan that showed his cancer had come back. He immediately started chemo again at Beacon Hospital.
In April 2024, Ollie had a stroke due to a side effect from one of his chemo medications. He spent many days in the hospital, and ended up having to get a tracheostomy to help him breathe. Ollie continued on to finish his cancer treatment. Today he is mostly recovered from the stroke, but does have some residual effects.
On March 20, 2025, a routine MRI found that Ollie’s cancer was back for a third time. This time, there were two masses found in his brain. Riley Hospital has come up with a treatment plan. They are optimistic that they will be able to help. Ollie will go in on 4/28 for surgery to remove one of the tumors. After he has time to heal for a few weeks, he will start chemo once again. He will need to spend a week in Indianapolis every other week. His treatment will go on for at least a year.
Ollie has had multiple doctors and medical staff tell him that he is the strongest patient they have ever met. He rarely complains and often has a smile or an eye roll for visitors. He still has a long journey ahead of him, but he has shown that he is prepared for a fight.
