This is Ollie. Or, as we like to call him, 'Offbeat Ollie'.
Ollie is a rescue from Puebla Mexico. He was found on the front steps of a store at only a few weeks old, just skin and bones and all alone. He was taken in by a local rescue and eventually made his way to Toronto with Save Our Scruff.
Save Our Scruff brought Ollie to us, and we have loved him fiercely ever since.

Why 'Offbeat'?
Our sweet boy has always been a little 'offbeat'. Ollie was injured when he was a puppy, before he was taken in by the rescue. His back right leg was severely injured, the tibia fractured and the growth plate crushed.

As Ollie grew, that little leg didn't grow much. It is now about three inches shorter than the rest of his legs and is a constant source of pain for him. Our puppy has been on pain medication his whole life.
Recently, that leg has developed a 'luxating patella', meaning his knee cap doesn't sit in the right place. Instead, it floats around, making it very painful for Ollie to be the happy active pup that he is meant to be!
Ollie needs an amputation
The best way for Ollie to live a pain-free life is to amputate that leg. Our happy little guy will soon be a tripawd pup! But we need your help.
Ollie's surgery has been estimated at $4200. This covers the cost of anesthesia, amputation, overnight care, and medication.
Since the issues with his leg are considered a pre-existing condition, we cannot get coverage through his usual pet insurance plan.
If your generous donations exceed the cost of the surgery, we will donate the extra funds raised to Ollie's rescue, Save Our Scruff.
