"A little girl's dream becomes a young woman's vision." -Unknown

A Little Girl's Dream:
I've known that I've wanted to act since I was three years old. It may sound like a paradox, but I feel the most like myself when I'm portraying other characters. Theatre is not a one-sided endeavor. It is an exchange between an actor and their audience; an exchange that has the potential to evoke thought, difficult conversations, and even change the world.

Wow. Enough about my philosophies. Here's the deal. I'm a seventeen year old rising senior, currently attending Watauga High School in Boone, North Carolina. I enjoy acting, singing, drawing, dancing, reading, hiking, traveling, and listening to music. I am an academically committed student and I have a weighted GPA of 4.61. The reason that I created this page is because I have a steadfast passion for the arts, especially theatre. I have been given the opportunity of attending Governor's School for theatre arts this summer at Meredith College and I am honored to have been selected to attend.

A Young Woman's Vision:
After years of dreaming, my vision is within reach. I have been accepted to attend the Interlochen Arts Academy for Theatre Performance in Michigan for my senior year of high school. I am elated and honored to have this opportunity. The academy is quite difficult to get into and very prestigious. Some Interlochen alumni include: Josh Groban, Norah Jones, Jewel, and Felicity Huffman. Interlochen offers an incredibly immersive intellectual and artistic enviornment where I would be able to explore my abilities and grow as an artist, student, and human being.

However...it is E to the X to the P to the E to the N to the S to the I to the V to the E. EXPENSIVE.

My tuition will be $63,450.00. I have been granted minimal financial aid which leaves me with a hefty balance. My family and I are going to sell my car and procure a loan.  I set a high goal on my campaign but If I don't reach my goal my parents are committed to applying for more loans so that I am able to attend.

My parents have always done everything within their power and then some to help me achieve my goals. They have paid for years of dance lessons and acting camps. They have provided me with rides to and from my plethora of rehearsals. They have been at every single one of my performances and have even sewn costumes for me! Most of all though, they have always been by my side and given their time and energy to every single ensemble for which I have worked. My parents are givers. They spearheaded a fundraising campaign so that my drama troupe could purchase a prop trailer for our theatre competitions.  Both of my parents have full time jobs and work very hard. However, between daily living expenses, room, board, and tuition for my brother who is a sophomore at UNC Chapel Hill, and the ongoing oncology bills from my mother's battle with cancer, they are stretched beyond their means.

We are a family of faith and love and humbly ask for your support. Thank you for visiting my page and for your consideration.
