Where do I begin!!!?? (Buckle up!)
My name is Olivia and I'd tell you my entire life story, but we would be here for quite some time. So here's the exciting news!
I'm a chronic mental health survivor and animals have always been my therapy, go-to, and sense of security.
I have wanted a Psychiatric Service Dog since I was two years old. I'm now 28. For all my life, every single day, I have struggled with my mental health. I still do. It is chronic, and I feel very alone. I feel a service dog would not only ease that loneliness, give me my freedom back, and provide the unconditional love and affection I truly need! It's been mega hard to not leave my room... but every day I make the small steps to move around and be active! Being in four walls all day every day is very lonely...
I'm so happy I got my acceptance letter 2 years ago!
Every single day is such a struggle. My mind never slows down. I've got severe anxiety, depression, and ADHD, Autism, and BPD. I've got the whole goodie bag!!! But it doesn't mean these disabilities should hold me back from being the best me!
I'm in counseling for ongoing regular therapy and psychiatric care regarding my medications, and I always stay on top of my care. It may be hard for me to do my skills in times of close to crisis, but I'm managing.
Been a while since I've been to the psych ward... I have permanent trauma of hospitals now. Ambulance sirens also. I'll shake like crazy and hyperventilate (anxiety attack) until I go to my safe space. My room.
I'm very lonely and it's really taking a toll on me.
I really hope I can acquire this goal. Money is tight but not impossible! A little help goes a long way! That's why I led YOU here! Also to hear my story!
The PSD dog is $7k, I have set the goal to $3.5k for my 1st payment due in 2 months. I'll have to attend a few classes after receiving my PSD. This is all in Concordia, KS to be exact. We're just in tiny IL. I can't drive or work currently (and haven't been for a while. I'm hoping I can get there somehow because my parents are seniors and have poor vision. I'm in the process of working on myself as a person to heal every day as much as I can, even on the worst most unbearable days.
All I know is that things happen for a reason! I've waited so long for the words "You are approved for a service dog" for 28 YEARS. I hung onto hope because of this dog, and many other awesome things I got going in my life!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart that you read this far. Please share this GoFundMe and have those people share it too!
Donating isn't required but will help ease the cost anxiety for my family and me TREMENDOUSLY!
