HELP OLIVIA GET A WHEELCHAIR-ACCESSIBLE VAN
We are raising funds to help Erika Eiger purchase a wheelchair-accessible van which will be used for transporting her daughter Olivia. Olivia is a beautiful and loving 19-year-old whose life changed dramatically when she was diagnosed with Juvenile Huntington’s Disease at just 12 years old.

Anyone who knows Olivia knows how special she is. Her favorite color is pink, she enjoys traveling, and loves music—especially the Jonas Brothers and Taylor Swift! Olivia is also a true animal lover, and some of her brightest, happiest moments happen during horse therapy, where she absolutely lights up with joy.

Olivia lives with her mother, Erika Gupta-Eiger, a devoted single mom who supports Olivia and her brother Joe on a teacher’s salary. Their family has already faced tremendous loss—Erika’s husband passed away from Huntington’s Disease in 2019, leaving her to raise the children and navigate the challenges of Olivia’s diagnosis alone.

OLIVIA’S JOURNEY WITH JUVENILE HUNTINGTON’S DISEASE
Juvenile Huntington’s Disease (JHD) is a rare, aggressive neurological condition that affects children and young adults. For Olivia, it has caused a steady loss of abilities over the past six and a half years. JHD leads to muscle stiffness, involuntary movements, difficulty walking, changes in coordination, and eventually the need for full-time mobility support. It also impacts speech, swallowing, and cognitive abilities, making communication and daily activities increasingly difficult.

Despite these immense challenges, Olivia continues to fight with incredible strength. The therapies she attends each week—Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Music Therapy, and her beloved Horse Therapy—bring comfort, joy, and small moments of connection that mean everything. Twice a week, she also receives massage therapy to ease her muscle stiffness, calm involuntary movements, and bring peace to her body. A full-time caregiver supports Olivia’s daily needs and allows Erika to continue working.

But as the disease has progressed, Olivia is no longer able to talk, stand, or walk. She is now completely wheelchair-bound. Transporting her in and out of a regular car or SUV has become extremely difficult—and increasingly unsafe—for both Olivia and her caregivers.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
This GoFundMe has been created to help Erika purchase a wheelchair-accessible handicap van. This specialized vehicle would allow Olivia, her guide dog Larry, and her essential medical equipment to safely travel to her many weekly therapies and appointments. Despite being extremely expensive, a van like this isn’t a luxury—it is a necessity for Olivia’s comfort, safety, and quality of life.

As we enter the holiday season, we kindly ask you to consider supporting Olivia and her mom, Erika. Your donation—no matter the size—will make a meaningful and lasting difference in their lives. With your help, Olivia can continue receiving the medical attention she requires and the therapies that support her well-being and bring her moments of happiness.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and compassion. Please donate and share to help Olivia get the van she urgently needs.
