Hello!
I'm making this GoFundMe to help cover costs for two of my cats to get medical care.
Those that know me may remember that Olivia (our 17yo Lynx Point Siamese) Had both of her mammary chains removed 5 months ago due to mammary cancer. She went through the full round of chemo and immunotherapy treatment and was doing amazing!! Her last chemo session was early Jan 2025. Late Jan 2025 the oncologist started her on an anti-cancer drug that is given at home three times a week in the form of a pill. We made it 1 and 1/2 weeks into this and she stopped eating. This medication caused her to feel very ill, and now due to her not eating, we are set to have an esophageal feeding tube placed this Thursday Feb 20th. The oncologist is confident we can get her back to where she was before the anti-cancer drug made her so ill. Her cancer treatment was expensive, so anything to help cover the cost of the E-tube placement would help. That estimate was $1400.
Next we have our sweet grey kitty Amelia aka Meal Worm. She had a rough end of last year as well. She was diagnosed with stomatitis, as well as a pituitary tumor (acromegaly) located at the base of her brain, which is causing her to have diabetes and other major medical issues. There is a treatment for this tumor called SRT (Stereotactic radiation therapy) which is a targeted blast of radiation to the tumor to help shrink it, which in turn should help her either not need insulin anymore or at least a reduced amount, plus keeps the tumor from causing other issues. Without this treatment, acromegaly can cause many issues which result in death: enlarged organs (heart, liver, spleen, kidneys, etc. pressure on the brain, excessive tissue growth that can obstruct her breathing, blindness, heart failure, and disfigurement, all due to the growth hormones this tumor is spitting out. it is unpleasant to think about. This treatment could give her years and a much more comfortable life. The treatment is done over 3 days, where she will be put under anesthesia and blasted with targeted radiation to the tumor. Sadly only a handful of specialty hospitals in the country do this. We will have to drive her out of state to Oregon to have this done. The treatment is $15,000. Thats the low estimate. It could be as high as $17K. I am not asking for the whole amount. But anything helps to make my girl feel better and live a quality life. This treatment will be done March 17th.
I will add a photo of her estimate to this page
Thank you to all that look at this, donate, share or send good thoughts our way. This has been a stressful and expensive start to 2025.
