My name is Olivia Juarez and I am a senior at Benton Central Jr. Sr. High School. I am involved in a new club at BC called Business Professionals of America (BPA). This organization is for students planning to pursue a career in business management, information technology, finance, office administration, and many other related fields. I will be attending The University of Alabama to double major in marketing and advertising in the Fall of 2023.

In BPA, I am a part of the Presentation Team where we are given a prompt and have to present to judges why we believe the gig economy is a valid business model. During the Regional competition, my team placed 1st and was able to move to the State level. At State, we placed 2nd and qualified for Nationals in Anaheim, California. For both Regionals and State, I was able to work concessions, fundraise through Rise n’ Roll Bakery, and cleaning up after home football games. We will leave for California on April 26 and return on the 30th. During this time, I will sadly be missing out on major senior activities such as prom. Although I could not be more excited to be able to compete in California. The total cost of the trip is roughly $1,845. Here is a short breakdown of this cost:

Registration & Hotel: $700

Shuttle: $45

Tours: $300
