Help Olivia and Rick: Life savings seized!
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
Our beloved friends Olivia Corson and Rick Higgs received alarming, life-changing news recently. A legal notice informed them that the investment firm holding their entire life savings is under federal investigation and that all funds are frozen as a result. After a lifetime giving to others as amazing teachers and artists, Olivia and Rick were entirely relying on those funds to make ends meet, especially now that Rick has retired as a public school teacher. The notice and preliminary discussions with knowledgeable attorneys indicate that this process will take many months for investors to see any recovery and that they could well lose the funds entirely depending on the investigation's outcome. Two independent lawyers have told them they will be lucky to find out within the next 6 to 9 months if, when, and how much of their life savings, if any, may be returned to them.
Our dear friends need our help to weather this crisis. They need our help to be able to stay in their home while they deal with Rick's increasing medical issues and the pandemic, buy groceries, pay their mortgage and other bills, and sort out their options and next steps.
If you can donate, please do. If you can help in other ways, helping them downsize, plan and move toward the next chapter in their lives, or supporting Olivia's wonderful Body Tales work, please contact them directly or get in touch with their daughter, Rhea. I have known and loved Olivia and Rick for 40 years. Over their decades in the Bay Area, I know they have woven a wonderful, multilayered community and have lifted the lives of so many people. Let's surround them with love and support as they move through this perilous time.
