Help Olivia and Max after apartment fire
Donation protected
Hi all,
This is Rachel, Olivia's older sister. I am making this page to provide a way to donate for those who want to help Olivia and Max after their apartment in Boulder burned down on Tuesday.
Tuesday in the middle of the night they woke up to a burning building and had to jump out their 2nd floor balcony. They were able to escape by throwing their mattress out and jumping onto it. We are really glad that no one was killed in the fire and that Olivia and Max are ok!! That being said, Olivia has three compression fractures in her spine from landing on her back and is in a back brace for now. There is also a lot of psychological trauma that is hitting, and we are trying our best to talk through it and get them the help they need.
There is still an ongoing investigation by the boulder police about how the fire started and whether anything can be recovered. The police said the building is not safe to go in, and it is unlikely that many belongings will be recovered. For now, Olivia and Max are living with me in Denver until we can figure out what their next step will be. The Red Cross has been super nice and has helped them get the basics like medications, toiletries, clothes, etc. so we are very thankful to have their help!
If you would like to help, any donation amount will help Olivia and Max in this tough situation. Thank you for all of the love and support we have already received, it is really nice to have so much support!!
News article: (they say no injuries; this was before Olivia reported her spinal fractures to the investigators)
