Olivia and Jon are dear friends who just achieved a lifelong dream: becoming first-time homeowners. Only days after closing on their new house, a severe storm struck their neighborhood. A lightning strike caused a large tree to fall directly onto their home, resulting in extensive damage before they even had the chance to fully move in or spend their first night there. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and for that we are all grateful. However, what should have been a joyful new beginning has quickly turned into a stressful and uncertain time for them.

While Olivia and Jon have homeowners insurance, they are now facing an unexpected deductible and several out-of-pocket expenses as they begin the long process of repairs and recovery. As new homeowners, these costs are a heavy burden, especially so soon after making such a big investment in their future. I am organizing this fundraiser to help ease some of that financial strain, so they can focus on getting their home—and their lives—back on track.
