Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my niece Olivia and her longtime boyfriend Jesus — a young couple who’ve been together since high school and have worked tirelessly to build a life of independence and love.
They’ve always been the kind of couple who made it work, no matter what. Olivia held a steady job at Starbucks for years and Jesus worked two jobs to help them maintain their apartment and bills. They were doing everything right — until life threw them a series of heartbreaking curveballs.
A few months ago, Olivia was part of the recent Starbucks layoffs. Losing a job she loved was tough, but they were pushing through. Jesus stepped up, working even harder to keep them afloat. But just this past weekend, Jesus was detained by ICE. Despite having DACA, he’s now facing an uncertain and painful process in an immigration detention center. The legal system has offered little hope — overwhelmed lawyers, endless delays, and no clear path forward. Jesus has made the difficult decision to self-deport and try to navigate this from abroad.
Meanwhile, Olivia is left to pick up the pieces. With no stable income and mounting stress, she’s had to give her 30-day notice and leave the apartment they worked so hard to maintain. She’ll be staying with family while she figures out next steps — emotionally, financially, and logistically.
This GoFundMe is to help Olivia cover basic expenses during this transition and give her a little breathing room to focus on what matters most: supporting Jesus through his relocation and planning for their future together.
If you’ve ever been a young couple trying to survive paycheck to paycheck, you know how fragile stability can be. Every bit of support — whether financial or simply sharing this page — means the world.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with Olivia and Jesus during this incredibly difficult time.
With love and gratitude,
Tia Angie
