Hello, my name's Alaura. I'm 18 and live with my mother and sister, housing 4 cats and a dog. I'll try to keep this short.
On January 15th, my family and I went out of state. We had a sitter watching them, but had not seen two of our cats the entirety of the trip. Upon our return, we discovered one of our cats—Oliver —beaten, muddy, and having difficulties eating and drinking. We took him to the vet and have reason to believe there is damage to his upper mandible and a split in his soft palate.
He is currently struggling to eat and drink, as it is entering his sinus. Without proper imaging, we can't say for sure.
With pain meds and lots of love, he's stable—but malnourished and dehydrated, and getting worse with every passing day.
Due to financial strain from a recent divorce, we are unable to scrape together enough to get imaging and treatment.
Oliver is a sweet, loving boy. He was found as a very young stray after a bad storm and took shelter with us. Since then, he's been a very valued member of our household. I do not want to bring him home deceased. Anything will help, whether it's enough to get imaging and treatment or just enough to get an IV and more meds, I'm grateful for any help.
