Help Oliver the Wonder Dog on His Road to Recovery

Meet Oliver

Our Story

He’s a rescue, so we’re not exactly sure how old he is, what kind of dog he is, or even who named him Oliver! But we know one thing for sure: ever since we adopted him from Chasin’ Tails rescue, he’s been our family’s bundle of joy in dark times. He came to us last February; he had a rough start, which led to many fears from his previous owner. He needed time to get used to a comfortable life. He used to be scared of Everything. But with a little time, patience, and a whole lot of love, we believe we’ve given him the best possible home for such an energetic puppy. One where he can play, get excited, and even make furry friends with the older pets in the house.

Unfortunately, the world can be a little unpredictable.

 The Cost

Oliver has had health complications, and now we’re up to our neck in medical debt. After something got trapped in his stomach, he struggled to eat, walk, or even drink. His first surgery was for a blockage in his intestine. He needed four repairs, one in his stomach and three in his small intestine. Oliver had a good prognosis because he is young and healthy, but after two days, he wasn't improving, and he stopped eating again. We were back to the Vet, but this time it was the Emergency Veterinary Hospital. The worst news came back. He needed emergency surgery for septic peritonitis. It means that all the bacteria-filled fluid from his intestines had leaked into his abdomen. When they opened him up, three of the original sites had opened. Now, after two surgeries, half a dozen vet visits, and time in the doggie ICU, it looks like Oliver is going to be okay, but the bills for these services have added up to something far beyond our means. His fight isn’t over yet. He is on a lot of medication and will have multiple follow-up visits. All we want is to continue to help our boy live his happiest, healthiest life.  The financial stress of lost time from work and the immense cost of the procedures which saved his life were well worth it but created a well of debt that we may never be able to climb out of.

Please consider donating anything you can to help us pay off this debt, and if you cannot, please share it with any friends who may have the ability to do so. It is a tremendously difficult time for all of us, and we believe that we will all be able to pull through with your support and care for our common well-being. If you aren't able to donate, please pray for his recovery, he means everything to us, and we will not give up! Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and offering any support you can.

Sincerely,
Stephanie (dog mom) and Evan (dog brother)
