Help Oliver Get His Service Dog To Help Keep Him Safe

Our sweet boy Oliver was diagnosed with Autism, Low Tone Cerebral Palsy and 4q35.1 deletion syndrome when he was about two years old. Oliver is now 11 and a half and continues to face many challenges daily. After much research we have decided that he would greatly benefit from a service dog as well as a Huckleberry casscade hiking cart. These things are incredible aids for kids like Oliver but they come with a hefty price tag. Although there are free service dog agencies out there the process is very complicated and often comes with a multi year wait. We have been in contact with a dog trainer that came recommended to us and we know is capable of providing a dog that will truly meet Olivers needs. Training these dogs is a long time consuming process that comes with many expenses. Therefore the price of these dogs are reflected in the quality. Although it is expensive it will be worth it in the end. All funds donated to Oliver will go into a special account we created for him and will go to the purchasing and care of his service dog as well as other equipment Oliver would benefit from in the future such as the Huckleberry hiking cart. The hiking cart is a durable off road capable trailer Oliver would be able to ride in that attaches to a backpack type contraption we would wear and be able to pull him along for many of the adventures he currently misses out on due to his limited mobility. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you so much for any contribution you can make no matter how small. I have never like asking for money for any reason but it sucks to see you're child struggle knowing there are things that can help him but you yourself can't provide. Having a service dog will help Oliver greatly with anxiety and meltdowns but the number one benefit would be safety. Despite his limitations Oliver is fast and stealthy and has eloped from our house and from us in public on many occasions. This dog will be trained to guard him from crossing streets, alerting us to trouble he may be in and staying with him and guiding him to keep him from running away before we can catch him. Oliver is not our only child and sometimes we can't watch them both and all it takes is a few seconds of watching her do something for him to slip away. She deserves our attention as well and having a service dog will be a great addition to family outings so we can have peace of mind that he won't escape. Thank you again. May God bless you all!
