Help Oliver Get His Life-Saving Stem Cell Transplant

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

As some of you may know, my brother Oliver has been battling an overlap of plasmablastic lymphoma and multiple myeloma since he was diagnosed in October 2025. Unfortunately, after 6 rounds of chemotherapy, his cancer has transformed into a more aggressive form of myeloma called plasma cell leukemia, which was confirmed today, April 8, 2026. Although he responded well at first, his body is now systematically under attack, and he will be undergoing more rounds of an even more aggressive chemotherapy called PACE.
By the grace of God, the Cook County Hospital system has been able to assist my family with all expenses thus far, and they will continue to assist him through the end of his chemotherapy. For this, we are forever thankful. Unfortunately, at the end of his treatment, he will need what is called an autologous stem cell transplant to give him a better chance at life and extend his prognosis. The Cook County Hospital system has let us know that they are unable to fund such a transplant, and I’ve called every hospital in Chicago only to find the same answer.

The transplant is estimated to cost the hospital over a million dollars, and I know there are many other patients who also need medical funding. Oliver does not qualify for Medicare, nor does he qualify for marketplace insurance. I refuse to give up and wish to give my brother the best chance at survival. I have reached out to the Mexican consulate for assistance and am also sharing his story with you all (with his permission) in the hopes that you may be able to donate toward his stem cell transplant.
If you are unable to donate, I completely understand and wholeheartedly appreciate any prayers you can dedicate to my brother, Oliverio Lucio.

We are forever in debt to you for your prayers and your help. Thank you!

¡Gracias!
