Help Oliver Broadhurst fight Bone Cancer
Donation protected
On September 15th, 2021, a beloved son, brother, and friend, Oliver Broadhurst, age 17, was told he had Osteosarcoma - the same bone cancer that took Terry Fox’s leg, and ultimately, his life.
Shortly after Olivers high school graduation, persistent shoulder pain led to a trip to the family doctor. An X-ray prompted an unofficial diagnosis on September 2nd, followed up by a biopsy and MRI which confirmed his diagnosis.
To successfully battle and beat Osteosarcoma, Oliver’s treatment will be aggressive and extensive. It will include (so far):
- 10 weeks chemotherapy treatment
- surgery to remove the tumour, followed by rehab
- 29 additional weeks of chemotherapy treatment
The Broadhurst family needs our help! Oliver needs to focus on his treatments and his rehabilitation. His family needs the time and resources to support him.
The goal of this fundraiser is:
- help Oliver’s family with costs associated with lost wages to support his ongoing & upcoming care
- help Oliver’s family with the resources to transport Oliver to attend his intensive chemotherapy sessions, along with the many scheduled and unexpected doctors visits, in Vancouver
- help Oliver’s family with costs associated with rehabilitation/physio therapy post surgery
- help pay for meals and potential accommodation closer to BC Children’s Hospital, for Oliver’s parents
… and more to come
Oliver and his family would like to thank in advance all those who have and will continue to support them during this difficult time.
All funds will be disbursed directly to the Broadhurst family.
