Help Singh family with NICU stay & surgery
Donation protected
Our names are Kristen and Andrew and we're hoping to raise money to help us with our newborn twins' medical expenses. After conceiving via IVF, we discovered we were pregnant with twins. Everything was going well until our 20 week anatomy scan. They found something alarming and sent us to see a Pediatric Cardiologist. During that appointment, Twin B (Cypress) was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot. That diagnosis is 4 different congenital heart defects classified under one name. The only way to repair it is with open heart surgery. It was explained to us that babies with TOF can sometimes turn blue. Not all of them do, but the ones that do need to be monitored very closely and don't usually get to go home before the surgery is done between 3-6 months.
On February 8, the twins were born at 36 weeks. Oliver was born at 10:45a (5lb 3oz) and Cypress was born at 10:46a (4lb 1oz). Initially, Cypress was doing well, but he has started to have blue spells. Unfortunately, this means his Cardiac ICU stay will likely be long. His brother is still in the NICU due to his size and being unable to regulate his temperature.
Our family would benefit immensely from help with medical expenses, along with gas and food expenses. We live an hour away from the hospital and will be traveling a lot due to Covid restrictions. Oliver will be discharged much sooner than Cypress and is not allowed back at the hospital once he's discharged. Andrew and I will have to take turns commuting there to see Cypress and make sure he always has enough breastmilk/time with us.
After dealing with infertility and figuring out our IVF expenses, this was the last thing we expected. We're beyond grateful to have the boys and be parents, but the finances are definitely a huge stressor at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
