My sweet 5-month-old French Bulldog, Olive, was recently diagnosed with a congenital spinal abnormality. From the moment I brought her home at just six weeks old, she’s been full of love, curiosity, and playful energy. I’ll never forget our first drive together—she curled up in my lap the entire 2 ½ hours home, refusing to sit in the passenger seat because she just wanted to be close. That was when I knew she trusted me to keep her safe.


Lately, Olive has been in pain, struggling to walk comfortably, and unable to enjoy the things she loves most. After visiting the vet, we learned that Olive was born with spinal malformations that are now affecting her nerves and causing her discomfort. She’s currently on medications to manage the pain, but we’ve been referred to a veterinary neurologist for advanced testing—likely including an MRI—and possibly long-term treatment or even surgery. These expenses are overwhelming, but I want to give Olive every chance at a happy, pain-free life.


Olive is more than just a pet—she’s family. She’s a curious, sweet, but timid little girl who gets easily scared in new situations, but she’s always been brave in her own quiet way.
