Hi, my name is Olive!
I’m a four-year-old Shih Tzu with a big heart, an impeccable mustache, and currently... one busted knee.
Earlier this year, I tore my CCL — that’s the ligament that holds my knee together. To make matters worse, I found out I also have grade 3 luxating patellas (fancy words for really bad knees).
Right now, my back left leg is totally out of commission, and it’s keeping me from doing all the things I love most — hiking, swimming, and yes, riding motorcycles. (Okay, maybe mostly posing on motorcycles, but still.)
I’ve been trying to tough it out, but the vets say the only real option is surgery.
Mega bummer, right?
They’ll need to carve some grooves into my bones (yikes!) so my kneecap can finally sit where it’s supposed to, and install a shiny new cruciate implant to keep everything nice and sturdy. Honestly, I’m tired of wobbling like a shopping cart with a bad wheel and I can’t wait to get back to my adventures!
The only downside? This surgery costs a lot of bones — and not the good kind.
If you can spare even a dollar, it would mean the world to me (and my messed up little knee).
Thank you for helping me get back on all four paws!
