Hi everyone,

Our dear friend Oli Pierce was just diagnosed with aggressive Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Oli just graduated from Shepherd University last spring. Oli and their service dog Magnus are beloved members of the Shepherd University community where they welcomed students at Program Board events for more than three years. Since graduation, this amazing team has been working for River Riders and you may have encountered them at Independent K-9 where they took classes regularly and helped others who were training service dogs.

Oli was admitted to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown where they have already begun their first round of chemotherapy with more rounds to come before a bone marrow transplant to restore their immune system and put the cancer into remission. Oli will remain in the hospital and unable to work during this time. Oli and their mom Dee need our help to cover hotel, rent, travel, and treatment while they are away from home.
