Help Olga with her cancer journey

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Josée. I am starting this fundraiser for my friend and employee, Olga Osmanov, who is currently suffering from advanced ovarian cancer. She has been off work since May 6th, depending solely on her husband's income to support their household, which includes them, their daughter and Olgas parents, who arrived from Ukraine in April.

Olga was born and raised in Ukraine, resided in Israel for 17 years then immigrated to Canada in 2017 with her husband and two children. They now live outside of St.Malo, by Carlowrie. Thanks to the support of our community and donors, her parents have resided with them since April after fleeing Ukraine due to the illegal occupancy of Russia.

On the eve of Friday, May 6, Olga started experiencing severe lower abdominal pain, which prompted her to go to the emergency in the morning to get assessed. After taking x-rays and being diagnosed with what they initially thought were kidney stones, she was sent for an ultrasound that same day. At her follow-up on Monday, she was told that she had cancer and that it wasn't stones that appeared on the x-rays but tumours. She was informed to stay off work and to rest until her oncologist appointment, where she would be assessed and make a plan.

At her initial meeting with an oncologist on May 26, she was told cancer had spread into her lymph, kidneys, intestines, liver, stomach, uterus, and ovaries. They planned for surgery before the end of June, followed by three rounds of chemo and to expect a full recovery after six weeks. They feared it had spread again by her follow-up the following week. Olga spent the following weeks taking numerous scans and tests to pinpoint the spread and assess the severity of the tumours on each organ. They adjusted the plan and decided the best course of action was to start with three rounds of chemo to reduce her liver's tumours before operating. July 7th was her first treatment.

Olga has received some ei, a significant reduction of her regular income. Now that treatment has started, she is expected to qualify for some disability, but the prior two months are not applicable. Despite being unable to work, she does not qualify for disability on their mortgage as it is solely under her husband's name. And her medicine isn't covered under his health benefits either. All this with the added expense of travelling to Winnipeg from Carlowrie, several times a week.

We are asking again if you can donate if possible and/or share this Go Fund Me.
