Water Pump for Okua Village, Uganda
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Olga, my granddaughter has helped me create this GoFund Me page so that I can raise money to get a water pump for Okua Village in Keyo, Uganda which is where I grew up.
I have worked full time in the education sector for the last 15 years.
I'll be returning to Uganda after nearly 26 years of living in London, I'm getting old now (although I'm in good shape) I hope to retire in October 2016.
I haven't seen some members of my family and community since I left Uganda in 1989 due to rebel activity by LRA (Lord Resistance Army) in Northern Uganda.

People in our community walk at least 4 miles to fetch water, something that is readily available in the Western world. Okua village could really use access to clean and fresh water which can help preventable diseases from dirty water such as Cholera which kills over 2 million people yearly and puts health at serious risk.

Due to global warming the well which was once functioning in our village has now dried up and there is no fresh water for members of the community. Living in London has provided me with easy access to water for bathing, beverages, cooking food and so on. And for that reason alone I'm very grateful, but if I am able to provide a whole community with this advantage that would be such a blessing.
Please help me contribute what you can to help get a water pump for Okua village, something that may seem like a big ask but is readily available to us whenever we need. The costs will cover buying the water pump, drilling, transport, and handy-men to install this in our village.
I would really appreciate your support this would truly be the best gift of unlimited access to clean fresh water that I can ever give to my community and members of my family.
May God bless you dearly.
Thanks,
Olga
