Hello everyone!
I’m an immigrant in the United States who came here to build a better future through education.
I came to the U.S. to study and work toward a career in healthcare. While I was here, my mother came to visit me—and our lives changed overnight. During her visit, she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and doctors said she needed immediate surgery and urgent treatment.
Because she was here on a travel visa, her medical situation was not covered in a way that could help with the overwhelming cost of surgery, medical supplies, and ongoing treatment. I did everything I could to save her life. I drained my savings, exhausted every resource I had, and went deep into debt trying to get her the care she needed.
Despite our efforts, my mother passed away on January 5, 2026. I’m still deeply grieving—and I’m also facing the financial reality left behind.
Today, I’m trying to keep going and finish my education. I am currently enrolled in a vocational nursing program, and I need help covering the basic costs that are now beyond my ability to manage:
• Tuition and school fees
• Rent and utilities
• Food and daily necessities
• Gas/transportation to school and appointments
• Debt from my mother’s emergency medical care and post surgery treatments
I’m also raising my four-year-old daughter. She has a speech delay, and timely evaluations and therapy are crucial to help her develop and thrive. Right now, I’m trying to balance school, grief, parenting, and medical appointments—without a job or stable income.
I’m asking for the chance to stay in school, get licensed, and start working so I can support my child, pay down this debt, and rebuild our lives after a devastating loss.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount helps. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser means a lot.
Thank you for reading, for your kindness, and for helping me take the next step forward.
With gratitude,
Olga
