Hello everyone, my name is Olga Cruz and I want to open my heart and share with you a very personal part of my journey. I was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, stage 3C, at the age of 36, in 2024. During this time, I have gone through a sea of emotions: fear, uncertainty, but also an inner strength I never imagined I had. I went through months of chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, numerous sessions of radiation, and immunotherapy. Every day, as a woman, I looked in the mirror and felt an enormous weight seeing how my body changed. I felt vulnerable, sometimes lost, not recognizing myself in that image. But it was in those moments that I felt God’s hand guiding me, giving me strength when I thought I couldn’t go on, reminding me that I was not alone. Despite everything, I kept working throughout this process. Even in the middle of chemotherapy, fighting exhaustion, almost without strength, with enormous effort, I never stopped working. I wanted to keep my health insurance; I wanted not to feel emotionally broken, and even though it was so hard, I kept going. My family, friends and coworkers were also by my side at every step, supporting me, holding me up when I didn’t think I could continue. Now, after all this time, I have reached a crucial step: my reconstruction surgery. After six months of recovery, my body is ready, but I need support not only for this surgery, but also to finish paying off the debts that remained from the entire process. The donations will be used for the surgeon’s fees, hospital stays, anesthesia, post-operative care, and to settle those outstanding debts, sadly yesterday the health insurance Bluecross BlueShield of Texas finished his contract with Memorial Hermann Hospital and my surgery has to be self pay, every contribution, whether by donating or sharing, means the world to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here, for standing by me, and for helping me move forward in this new chapter of my life. Every step I have taken has been possible because of you, your prayers, your support, and your love. I never imagined how strong I would be facing this, but your generosity gives me hope. Thank you for every gesture, for every word, for every donation. With you, I know I can open a new chapter in my life, full of health, gratitude, and a future full of light.
