Help a Ukrainian family rebuild their lives
Donation protected
My family is one of those unlucky enough to be caught in the war in Ukraine:
Olga - my stepmom, 49, doctor
Vladimir - Olga's dad, 76, recently had a stroke, requires care
Stas - my stepbrother, 29, office worker
Stas - my stepbrother, 29, office worker
Alina - Stas's wife, 28, office worker
Arina - Stas & Alina's daughter, age 4
Some of you have seen my LinkedIn post asking for help to evacuate them from north of Kyiv into Poland. So many people reached out to help, but due to my family's location, it's either not been possible (bridges are gone or blocked) or not been safe (the city is surrounded by Russian forces) to get out. It doesn't help that Stas, as a man aged 18-60, is not allowed to leave Ukraine.
When it becomes possible, my family will leave their beautiful country behind, including Stas & Alina's flat that they worked so hard to afford, their jobs, and the lives they built to re-start from zero in a new country. We don't know yet where, EU, Canada, or the UK. Anywhere that will have them.
The moment they cross the border out of Ukraine, they'll need financial support to pay for:
- Transport to their final destination, wherever that may be
- Food, shelter, clothes, and other basics
- Vladimir's on-going care given his health condition
- Arina's daycare to give her parents a chance to learn the new language
I'm lucky to have a great job & a fantastic employer, Virgin Red , to be in a position to provide financial support. But I know it'll be challenging to do it alone. So I'm asking for help from my friends, colleagues, friends of friends, and anyone else who's rooting for the remarkably brave Ukrainians and their unbreakable spirit. When this hell is over, your contribution will help my family get back to normal.
All proceeds will be transferred to Olga.
There is a chance that my family does not make it out alive. If that happens, I will donate the money to the Ukrainian Red Cross.
