In June 2019, my best friend Lina Edwardson was diagnosed with an incredibly aggressive form of cancer, Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She will be undergoing approximately 20 weeks of chemotherapy followed by several invasive surgeries and radiation therapy.

Lina Edwardson has been a police officer for over 17 years, 10 of which she has been serving and protecting the Racine area as a part of the RAPD. Her husband, Chris Edwardson, is a Racine County Deputy and has also been serving in the department for over 25 years. On top of all of her police force duties, Lina is also a loving mother to her 15-year-old son, Tyler.

Unfortunately, Lina only has 226 hours of paid sick time which will not be able to cover her time spent away from work in chemo. This GoFundMe page was made to help alleviate some of the financial burden put on her family while she battles this aggressive cancer.

A fundraiser event has been set up at Dickie’s Bar in Racine, WI on September 28th. We have created this campaign because several people have asked for another way to donate if they are unable to make it to the actual event.

Any amount donated is greatly appreciated and will be going directly to help take care of a woman who has dedicated her life to caring for the safety of her community. Let’s help Lina beat this cancer together!
