Hey everyone. Some of you may be familiar with the situation we worked through at my place of work with getting an unhoused individual who was camping out nearby into a shelter (which we did, yay!). The most difficult aspect we encountered was convincing the woman to allow us to take her 4 chihuahuas into foster care because the shelters do not allow pets. My friend and co-worker Ofelia generously volunteered to take on the task of foster mom. Sadly, one of the dogs passed away before we could take them and before getting the woman into a shelter. Besides the cost of food, vet care, and other practical expenses, one of the dogs had some serious behavioral issues that a doggy therapist had been instrumental in correcting.
