On July 12th , an innocent, 8-week-old Great Dane puppy named Odin came into the care of Waiting On A Friend Animal Rescue—a 501c3 animal rescue dedicated to helping animals who need a second chance.
Odin has already endured more pain and trauma in his short life than most could imagine. At just a few weeks old, this sweet boy was shot in the face with a shotgun. We can only imagine the fear and confusion he must have felt in that moment.
Miraculously, the shooter was far enough away that Odin’s skull wasn’t penetrated—but the pellets tore through the soft tissue of his face, rupturing both of his eyes and leaving him permanently blind.
Despite everything, Odin is still full of love, trust, and an incredible will to live. He’s now safe with us, but his journey is just beginning. He is going to require surgery by an ophthalmologist and continued care and supportive treatment.
We are turning to our community for help. Odin’s vet bills are expected to be expensive , and as a nonprofit rescue, we rely entirely on donations to fund lifesaving care like his. Every single dollar raised will go directly toward Odin’s medical care and recovery.
Odin may never see the world with his eyes, but with your support, he will see it through love, safety, and kindness.
Please consider donating, sharing, and helping us give Odin the life he deserves. He didn’t choose what happened to him—but we can choose to show him that he’s not alone.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping Odin heal.
