Help Odin Fight for His Life

Odin isn't just a dog — he's family. He’s been with Theresa and Anthony through some of life’s biggest milestones: navigating dog parenthood together, getting married, and building a life as a family. Odin is Anthony’s first dog, and their bond is irreplaceable. Now, Odin needs our help.

On Monday, August 4th, Odin went in for what was supposed to be a routine grooming appointment. But something wasn’t right — the groomer noticed Odin's gums were bleeding. He was rushed to the vet, where he was diagnosed with immune-mediated thrombocytopenia — a serious condition where the body attacks its own platelets, the cells responsible for blood clotting.

Things quickly took a turn for the worse. Odin began experiencing internal bleeding, and his red blood cell count started to drop. He was transferred to an emergency veterinary hospital, where he’s been fighting for his life ever since.

He’s already had two blood transfusions and is on powerful medication to help his body produce platelets again. Right now, those transfusions are the only thing keeping him alive long enough for the treatment to hopefully work.

Even in critical condition, Odin is still wagging his tail, full of love and spirit — just like always. He doesn’t know how sick he is. He just wants to come home.

Theresa and Anthony have pet insurance, but the costs of emergency care, transfusions, hospitalization, and ongoing treatment are adding up fast — far beyond what insurance covers. They’re doing everything they can to save Odin, but they need our help.
