Help Odin Beat Bone Cancer

Post-surgery Update:
Hi everyone,
Thank you all so much for your continued support—it’s truly meant the world. Odin’s surgery went very well, and I’m so relieved to share that he’s back to causing trouble :) . Even the fur is already growing back in, and he’s adjusting like a champ—full of energy, snuggles, and little tail nub wags.
My mom generously covered the cost of the surgery on her credit cards so Odin could get the care he needed without delay. We’re now working to raise about $7,000 to help pay that off and support his ongoing recovery. The tests confirmed the cancer to be osteosarcoma, and I'm hoping we can give him care as we navigate this chapter of his life.
If you’re able to donate or share this campaign, we’d be incredibly grateful. Odin’s doing great—and it’s because of the love, kindness, and encouragement from people like you.
Thank you again for being part of his journey.
With love,
Rachel, Odin & Olive
*update: we have scheduled his surgery and he will be a tripaw’d as of next Thursday. This is the most expensive part of his recovery and I’m hoping we can raise enough to cover it before we go. If you can donate or share we would truly appreciate it.
Hi everyone, I’m Rachel, and I’m asking for your help to save my sweet, goofy, and loving 3-year-old Australian Shepherd, Odin.
Odin came into my life in April 2022, just one day after my sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer. In a strange twist of fate, we jokingly called him “cancer puppy,” never imagining that two years later, we’d be facing something just as heartbreaking with him.
Odin has been my rock through life’s hardest moments - always by my side, making me laugh with his goofy antics and reminding me that even on the worst days, there’s still joy.
A few weeks ago, I noticed Odin was limping and avoiding putting weight on his back left leg. I thought it was a minor injury, but after multiple vet visits and X-rays, I received devastating news - his scans showed signs of bone cancer. Further tests confirmed that to give him the best chance, we need to amputate his leg immediately.
Odin is full of life, energy, and resilience. He already gets around like a champ on three legs, but the medical costs for his amputation, recovery, and chemotherapy are overwhelming.
His surgery alone is estimated at $10,000, and chemo will add even more, and the bills are already in the thousands.
Now, when he needs me the most, I want to be there for him the way he’s always been there for me - but I can’t do it alone.
As you may know, I was laid off while still recovering from a major concussion, and I have had a lot of difficulty trying to get back into the workforce. This has made this unexpected crisis even harder to navigate. I’ve always worked hard to provide for Odin, but right now, I need support from my community.
How You Can Help
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly to Odin’s surgery, medication, and ongoing care. Even if you can’t contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser means the world to us.
Unfortunately, the doctors have warned us that even with amputation, the survival rate is low. But Odin is a fighter, and I refuse to give up on him.
If you’ve ever loved a pet, you know they’re family. If Odin has ever made you smile, or if you believe in giving dogs a fighting chance, please consider donating or sharing his story.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of Odin’s journey. Your kindness and support mean everything.
With gratitude,
Rachel & Odin (&Olive)
