Hi, my name is Silvia, and I’m asking for help for my dog, Odie.
Odie is a 9-year-old Dachshund/Labrador mix that I’ve had since he was just 3 months old. He’s been by my side through so many important and difficult moments in my life. He’s incredibly loyal and full of personality—my little rascal, my mini protector, my snuggler, and so much more. Truly, my best friend.
Out of nowhere, Odie developed a serious eye condition and has been diagnosed with severe glaucoma. The pressure in his eye is extremely high and is causing him significant pain. The vet has recommended urgent surgery to remove the affected eye so he can be relieved from pain and avoid further complications.
This all happened very suddenly, and I was not financially prepared for something like this. The estimated cost for surgery at my current vet is approximately $2,400–$2,900 at minimum, and that is only an estimate. The earliest they are able to perform the procedure is in a couple of days because they are closed over the weekend, but due to the severity of his condition, I was advised that he should be seen as soon as possible.
If I am unable to wait and need to take him to an emergency or urgent care hospital over the weekend, the cost could be significantly higher.
I have already taken steps to cover as much as I can using my available credit, but I am still facing a large financial gap. I am doing everything I can to make sure Odie gets the care he needs as soon as possible.
If you are able to help in any way, whether through a donation or by sharing this, it would mean so much to me and our little pack. He has a furry canine sister and two cat siblings waiting for him at home.
Thank you for taking the time to read Odie’s story and for any support you can give him whether it's through a donation or a share.
