Hello, my name is Diamond, our mother, Odeal Curley, passed away tragically October 18, 2025, a day after my birthday. She’s a victim of gun violence. She was murdered on 54th & Shields, in front of her home. She was an amazing woman who worked for CPS as a Safe Passage Worker for many years, ensuring the safe arrival and dismissal of the children in the community. She was a mother of 5, with 3 minor children still in the home. She had a beautiful spirit and the kindest heart. She took so many kids in and treated them as her own. Odeal was loved by many. She loved everyone and any time you were around our mom she made sure you laughed and felt safe. She made you feel loved by her very nurturing spirit, no matter who you were. You were sure to have a good time around her. We're starting this GoFundMe to offset the cost of the funeral for our mom, due lack of insurance in place. All monies donated will go towards funeral expenses and the future needs of the minor children. Anyone able to donate, we want to say, "Thank you so much, from the depths of our heart!"
