Teresa Coffey-O'Neal has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Teresa moved to Ocracoke in 1999 From Malibu California, and shortly after met and married Albert O'Neal who is a lifelong resident of Ocracoke. Unfortunately, Teresa lost insurance coverage when, after 26 years, Albert (and 11 others) were let go from the NC State Ferry Division. They will be traveling to UNC Chapel Hill for her care. Teresa loves this community, and has given her time and talents to the OVFD, OCBA and Ocracoke Childcare Center. Albert is the Fire Chief at OVFD. They have given so much of their time and energy to the community....It's our turn to help them in their time of need. Medical expenses and travel expenses will add up quickly.
