After going through a divorce, I made the move to Belize to start fresh. While I’m grateful for this new beginning, I’m facing the challenge of rebuilding my life from scratch. My apartment is very minimally furnished—I have only basic bedding and a few kitchen supplies, like one spoon, one fork, and some pots and pans. Most days, I eat ramen because my refrigerator is empty and I simply can’t afford to stock up on groceries right now.
On top of that, I’m dealing with some health concerns. I have a lump on my head that needs to be checked by a doctor, and I’ve been experiencing painful burning and tingling in my left hand. Medical care is more affordable here, but without insurance, even basic visits and tests are a real worry. My part-time job covers my rent and essentials, but I don’t have any disposable income to furnish my home or take care of these medical needs.
I’ll be alone on the island through the holidays, and any support—no matter how small—would mean the world to me. Your help will go directly toward making my apartment a home and ensuring I can get the medical care I need. Thank you for considering supporting me as I rebuild and move forward.
