Obi has been my best friend since I brought him home at 8 weeks old. He is my sweet, loving little guy, and I adore him more than I can put into words. Watching him hurt has been absolutely heartbreaking. Obi has now injured his back three different times just doing normal dog things like chasing a ball or playing at the park. Things that should bring him joy now come with fear, because each time he gets hurt, I can see how much pain he is in. The first time, the vet did not think it was too serious. The second time, earlier this year, it became much more concerning. Obi was put on a strict six-week rest protocol, given pain medication, and I was told that if it happened again, he would need an MRI for a definitive diagnosis.

Now we are facing that third time, and it is devastating to know my best friend is suffering again. I know Obi is in pain, and I cannot keep guessing at what is wrong while he continues to struggle. We are facing something incredibly serious, and watching him in this much pain is heartbreaking. To know exactly what is attacking his spine and causing this neurological damage—whether it's IVDD or a severe Chiari-like malformation—he needs an immediate MRI for a definitive diagnosis. We can't treat blindly when his mobility is on the line. An MRI will finally give real answers and is the next step to help him heal and prevent this from happening again.
