Hi, our names are Michelle and Christian, and we’re fundraising for our sweet 2-year-old Golden Retriever, Oatly. She has been the light of our lives since the day we brought her home, filling every day with joy, comfort, and unconditional love. Sadly, Oatly has recently fallen ill and is going through a scary and unexpected medical situation.
Over the past week, Oatly has been experiencing troubling symptoms—panting, drooling, and even seizures, something she has never had before. We first rushed her to the emergency hospital where we were told it was only a stomach issue. But after more visits, tests, and going to two additional hospitals, we learned this is much more serious and likely connected to her neurology.
She has already had X-rays, ultrasounds, bloodwork, and multiple medications. With all these visits we’ve reached our annual insurance limit and have been paying everything else out of pocket. Through it all, Oatly hasn’t been her playful self, and she’s been having restless nights, which has been heartbreaking to watch.
Today, her vet informed us that she now needs an MRI scan to find out what’s really going on in her brain. This test is critical to determine whether she may be fighting an infection attacking her brain or possibly a tumor. Getting this MRI is the only way we can finally get answers and move forward with the right treatment plan to give her the best chance at recovery.
We are asking for help to cover the MRI scan only, as we’ve taken care of all her other medical expenses ourselves.
