On August 27, 2025, our neighbors, Kyle and Reyna, had a terrifying experience. Their beloved puppy, Oakley, was snatched in the front yard by a coyote. It was every pet parent’s worst nightmare. Kyle and Reyna, along with multiple neighbors, frantically searched through the marsh for over two hours, calling his name and hoping they would find him alive.
When they finally did, he was in rough shape — injured, exhausted, and barely hanging on. They rushed him to The COVE Emergency Vet Hospital in Suffolk, VA, where the team worked to stabilize him. He is now being transferred to a specialty emergency facility in Williamsburg for continued critical care.
Oakley is a fighter and is slowly recovering, but he may have lasting neurological damage and other complications from this horrific ordeal. He has already endured so much, and so have his owners.
Unfortunately, the cost of this life-saving care is overwhelming. Between emergency hospitalization, intensive monitoring, diagnostics, and possible long-term treatment, the bills are climbing.
We are asking for help from friends, family, neighbors, and kind-hearted animal lovers to support Oakley in his fight. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward his veterinary bills and ongoing recovery.
Please consider donating or sharing this page to spread the word. Your support means the world to us, and we are so grateful for any help you can give to help bring this sweet boy home healthy again.
Let’s rally for Kyle and Reyna, and for Oakley, too!
