Oakley is more than just my dog — he is my emotional support animal, my safest place, my shadow, and my heart outside of my body. On February 25, 2026, we heard the words no pet parent ever wants to hear: Oakley has cancer. The room felt like it closed in. I could barely breathe.

Oakley is the king of belly rubs, slow walks where he stops to smell everything, and gentle little nudges for snackies. He’s an old soul — soft, patient, and endlessly loving. He has carried me through some of the hardest seasons of my life without ever asking for anything in return. He’s been my answered prayer, my quiet comfort on heavy days, and the biggest blessing I never knew I needed. We are a team in every sense of the word, and the thought of facing my days without him beside me feels unbearable.

The funds raised will go directly toward Oakley’s medical care — surgery to remove the cancer and the lab work needed to determine the tumor’s grade. Those results will tell us what kind of fight we’re up against and what more he may need. I would give anything to take this from him, but the only thing I can do right now is fight for him the way he has always stood by me.
