Hello, everyone. My name is Fatimah Salahuddin. I have been an educator for 5 years in the Bay Area and for the last 2 years teaching K-12 with Oakland Unified School District in East Oakland. Although I can´t share all the details online, I will try to keep this as straightforward as possible. I am in the process of fighting a court case for an incident that occurred on the June 4th, 2019. This campaign is specifically for the base amount that is necessary for me to retain the legal services necessary for me to begin the process of a getting this case dismissed.  The current amount I am listing is $2,900 for the initial retainer fee for the lawyer I have been speaking with, and he has guaranteed me that we have more than enough evidence to fight it and get the case dismissed. I will be doing my best to also be paying out of my own pocket to ensure that others do not have to contribute more than necessary. The sooner this can be met, the better for it can have a serious impact on my teaching credential being cleared.  As I do not have the financial means to retain these legal services on my own, I’m requesting any assistance that can possibly be procured.
