Hi all.
Please help out a fellow Oakland family in need of a home.
My eldest child started this page to help out her friend from school. They were illegally evicted from their apartment in N. Oakland, belongings literally tossed out on the sidewalk. They lost everything and are now living split up between Oakland and SF at different relatives and friends homes. E'neras elder sister attends UC Berkeley and is currently housed on campus.
E'nera (my kid's friend) lives on the autism spectrum and is very distraught at the change to her stability. Her little brother is having a difficult time adjusting to not having a home.
I'm sure you are all aware of the scarcity of affordable housing in this city. Once someone loses their home it is very difficult to remain here. Property owners are eager to evict tenants becaue they know they can raise rent and bring in more money.
In mom's words below:
Hi, my name is Allamby Rockoloves. I live with my daughter Enera and my son Naseem on MLK in North Oakland.
We have been illegally evicted from our home and we need your help!
We need money to pay the landlord, for all our things we lost, and for a roof over our heads.
After an inspection this year, I had to make payments for repairs and rent. My income was changing in June and I needed to find a new job within a very short time. This caused my landlord to worry if I was going to pay rent or not, so he tried to evict us.
As time goes on, in June I was notified that my issue with money was going to change, badly. I tried to find a public defender to make payments for current dates but money was getting tight. I kept paying rent and informed the landlord and housing about it. They were responsive until the end of August. I had a job now, and was trying to fix things. Housing wanted to come in, and my daughters were trying to help with paperwork but were having trouble with it and one of which was underage.
Then the landlord threatened my family with eviction and did not accept what money I had at the time.
The beginning of September, I was served an eviction notice that on 9/4/16 and went to file a civil suit extending of 30 days to have time to move somewhere else. On 9/12/16, I went to work without the ability to answer the phone until a break.
My daughter Enera was so upset and nervous that she didn't answer the phone .
When I was gone, they threw everything out, all off our stuff was thrown into the trash without any notice. Stuff you won't believe its gone, gone.
No paperwork had been filed to housing, they evicted us illegally.
We need money for the landlord, what was owned, and a roof over our heads. My little family is separate from me aka mom aka The Rock, I need you to help me, help us.
Anything would be appreciated please help us!!
