Hi, my name is Skye and I’m reaching out with love and urgency for our 6-year-old staffy, Nyx.
Nyx is more than just a pet — she’s our girl, my daughter’s best friend, protector and shadow. She’s full of love and loyalty, and it breaks our heart to see her in pain. Recently, Nyx became lame in her left hind leg. The vet believes she may be suffering from a hip luxation and/or a cruciate ligament injury, both of which are serious and painful conditions that need surgery to treat asap.
Right now, Nyx can barely put weight on her leg. She’s not herself — she can’t run, play, or even walk comfortably. Watching her struggle is devastating.
Before she can even have surgery, she needs blood work, several X-rays under sedation, and ongoing pain relief, which totals just over $1000. The surgery itself has been quoted between $3000–$3500, depending on what they find once the scans are complete.
I’ve explored every option available to me. I don’t have savings or pet insurance, and I don’t qualify for buy-now pay-later services. I’m doing my best, but we just can’t afford this alone.
I’ve never created a fundraiser before, and it’s hard to ask for help — but I know I need to try everything to give Nyx a chance to walk, run, and live without pain again.
If you can help us — even $5 — it would mean more than we can express. And if you can’t donate right now, sharing this link would also make a huge difference.
Thank you for reading Nyx’s story and for any kindness you can spare. She’s been there for us every day — and now we just want to be there for her.
With love and gratitude,
Skye, Nyx & our little family.
