Sweet Nyx has been diagnosed with Addison's disease, which has caused free fluid in her abdomen due to electrolytes being off. She has labored breathing and weak muscles. We spent Friday at the emergency vet, and they wanted to admit her to monitor her electrolytes and replenish them, along with starting her steroid treatments. They quoted us $3500 for that, and of course, they want payment up front. We couldn't afford that, so we started steroid treatments at home. She has gotten weaker, and we need to bring her back to the vet for more labs. We are asking for help with vet costs to help get her through this treatment and get our loving Nyx back to her spunky, fun, loving self. If you could help out Sally and me with vet costs, it would be much appreciated. We really hate asking for help, but they are hopeful she can live a long, happy life with steroid treatment for the rest of her life, but we need to get her through the Addisonian crisis.
