Every day in hospitals and labs across New York, unopened and unused medical supplies are thrown away simply because they can no longer be used locally. At the same time, clinics around the world are forced to reuse gloves, ration gauze, and turn patients away due to lack of basic materials.
NYU Blueprints for Pangaea was created to bridge that gap.
We are a student-led chapter of Blueprints for Pangaea, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Through our parent organization’s established infrastructure and global partnerships, we collect surplus, usable medical supplies and redirect them to under-resourced healthcare systems around the world.
Instead of allowing unopened supplies to go to waste we sort and prepare them for shipment to trusted medical partners who use them directly in patient care. These are not symbolic shipments. Gloves protect healthcare workers. Sterile gauze prevents infection. Basic equipment supports safe procedures and emergency care.
Your donation has direct, measurable impact:
• $15 helps cover packaging and preparation for one supply box
• $50 helps fund transportation of multiple kits to a partner clinic
• $100 helps offset international shipping costs for bulk medical supplies
• $250+ helps us scale hospital collection efforts and expand outreach
We are building a sustainable system at NYU that reduces medical waste while increasing access to essential healthcare. Instead of ending up in landfills, these materials can protect healthcare workers, prevent infections, and support safe treatment.
With your help, unused resources become lifesaving tools.
