Hello Community,
I am honored and excited that on July 24th, I will be participating in my first full marathon, running 26.1 miles at this year's 2022 San Francisco Marathon!
Running marathons has been one of the biggest personal goals that I wanted to accomplish while I was incarcerated. For the 16 years that I was inside, running was also a form of holistic healing, and since coming home, I’ve run three half marathons.
I am also running in honor of incarcerated community members with this challenge and ask, will you donate to my fundraiser?
I will send all the proceeds inside. Your donation will help provide for their basic needs, such as purchasing hygienes, stamps, envelopes, and funds to make collect calls to their loved ones. The majority of those I will send funds to are currently serving Life Without the Possibility of Parole (LWOP), Life sentences, and have been down over 15 - 20 years. And as you know, these last few years, with the pandemic, incarcerated community members have experienced increased isolation and a sense of hopelessness. I want to let them know they are valued and that we care for them.
Will you help me reach my goal of sending commissary funds to incarcerated community members and support me in honoring this run for them by contributing to my fundraiser?
