Please Help Rebuild My Home and Community — Catherine Hall & Farm Heights, Montego Bay After Hurricane Melissa

Hi Everyone,

Our names are Nyoka Kelly-Campbell and Reggie Campbell, and we are reaching out with heavy hearts on behalf of our families in Catherine Hall & Farm Heights, Montego Bay, Jamaica where we both grew up. Our homes and community have been devastated by Hurricane Melissa, and we are struggling to pick up the pieces.

The storm brought severe flooding causing our parents houses to be filled with muddy water, reaching the interior roof at the height of the storm. The surge caused them to seek refuge on higher grounds, resulting in massive destruction, and heartbreak. The contents inside their houses have been completely destroyed — furniture and appliances, clothing, important documents and memories all washed away. Reggie’s mom who is a devoted Christian and missionary worker, who’s always helping the needy, her entire home was flooded and her roof and furniture completely damaged. Nyoka’s dad who is loved by many, always helping our neighbors with plumbing services because of his kind heart and caring spirit, his home was completely submerged, which is now completely covered in mud and nothing is salvageable. Streets that were once full of laughter and life are now filled with mud, debris, and tears and our families have nowhere else to go.

I’m asking for your help — whether you’re near or far, from Jamaica or abroad — to stand with us in this time of need. Every donation, big or small, will go directly towards helping out families and loved ones recover and rebuild.
