Help Nyla on Teaching Journey
My name is Nyla Duperval and thank you for taking the time to read my story. In 2020, I embarked on a career change from the insurance industry into the educational field. I wanted to pursue a career with a sense of purpose with an impact on my community. As a substitute teacher, my drive to impact the youth has grown stronger as I embark on my journey to become an educator.
I accepted an opportunity with Urban Teachers, a 4-year teacher preparation program, to provide the academic and training support I will need to become an effective educator. I will be serving as an elementary school intern in Texas while earning my Master of Education degree from Johns Hopkins University.
Due to my career change, I have experienced financial hardships being employed as a substitute teacher. I created this GoFundMe to obtain support for school supplies and living expenses.
Your donation will go towards:
• A laptop for educational purposes
• Living expenses for a year of graduate school
Without your support, I will be unable to complete my graduate coursework costing me my place within the program. Please support a future black educator in her journey to impact our future generations.
Thank you for your donations and blessing future generations. Please share my story with your friends and family.
