I took my puppy, Nyja, to two veterinarians after noticing her holding up one of her back legs. Both veterinarians stated that Nyja needs surgery on both her hind legs. She was diagnosed with Medial Patellar Luxation (MPL), with a grade of 4/4 on her right leg and 3/4 on her left leg. This means her legs are as bad as they can get, and both slip in and out of her knee caps, causing her a lot of pain. Nyja was born with this condition, but I only learned about it this month.

Nyja needs surgery to correct this painful condition, but unfortunately, I am unable to come up with the cost on my own. The surgery is extremely expensive, and it’s heartbreaking to see her in pain. My mother, sister, and I have grown very attached to Nyja—she is truly a part of our family. Nyja has brought a joy into our lives that has been missing for a long time, and we couldn’t imagine life without her.
