For the last six years, NYCARG has been rescuing, vetting and homing cats from some of the worst neighborhoods in all Burroughs of New York City, and even New Jersey. Our small, dedicated team has saved hundreds upon hundreds of cats and kittens and placed them in fully vetted, safe homes (which includes a thorough application process and diligent home check).

 

While we have continued to rescue throughout the pandemic, we have hit massive financial obstacles as the ASPCA stopped offering their rescue services and only recently reopened, but in a very limited capacity, making it impossible to schedule an appointment. For almost 2 years now, we have been forced to take our rescues to private vets in the area. While some of these visits can be slightly discounted (10 to 20% if we’re lucky) we are still faced with costs of at least $150 per animal. Just for basic vetting...spay/neuter, vaccinations, FIV/Felv testing. And in cases where there are medical issues that must be addressed, the cost is significantly higher; sometimes in the thousands of dollars per procedure. Every animal who is placed into a foster or forever home is FULLY vetted!

 

It is our mission to continue rescuing and homing these poor helpless animals, but we need YOUR help!
